I’m watching Tarzans Desert Mystery . The actress who plays the mother in the classic movie The Bad Seed  is in the desert and demonstrating the Cutting the Woman in Half magic trick with 3 Arabs. She says to one of them “wow, you sure do give the kings English a hefty case of Saint Vitus Dance.” She proceeds to do the trick … bended knees inside the box and screaming for effect. Tarzan hears her wails and races in to save the day. She says to him “cut it out, you’re queering my pitch.” The big lug moves on and battles Nazis.  All in a days ...

         True dis.          A man and a woman, both 96, live in a nursing home in Kansas.   She beats him at pool and when he proposed to her she told him no way Jose . He persisted and told her about a large apartment they could share at the place.   Not enough to sway her.  The next day, they toured the apartment and pop alopa wop dee doo! Her eyeballs grew big when  she took in the walk in closet. “OK, I’ll say I do.”   Ah! Sweet mystery of life At last I've found thee Ah!        I met with my friend John in Washington Square this afternoon and told him about my recent visit with my doctor - which I wrote about in my last blog.   His father died when he was very young. Years ago, he visited a psychic who told him she was smelling rich earth and cigars and seeing the color purple and a beautiful pocket watch.   John’s father was fond of stogies, was an expert gardener and most favored verbena.   Shortly after his visit with the medium, his uncle gave him a watch from his father with his name inscribed on the back of it that he had forgotten about.  

I asked my doctor today if she believes in an afterlife.   She said she does  and that a lot of doctors have strange encounters they don’t share with people because they don’t want to be thought of as kooky.   She once walked into an examination room and encountered an old man sitting beside her eighteen year old patient who was facing an early death. He said to my doctor “I’m her father.” She was about to tell him to please wait in the lobby but he suddenly vanished. She told her patient what transpired and she told my doctor “my father died a week ago.” Months later, my doctor was going to see her patient again and the father came into her mind. He said “tell her I want tulips.” She told her and was informed that it was the fathers’ birthday.  

Went to visit Lynda and Jay this weekend. She showed me her fathers Purple Heart. He paid for it with seventeen surgeries and was kept alive by his prayer book he kept close by inside his inside pocket. It took a bullet with his name on it. He went on to finish college, marry, father, practice law and spend a lot of time on open seas that soothed his soul. 

  I'm watching Godfather 2. Michael is in Cuba and tells Hyman Roth - the big shot he is colluding with - that he saw something in the street. Police were in the midst of arresting a rebel and, instead of letting them take him, he killed himself with a bomb. Hyman inquires ... "what does that tell you."  Michael says "that they could win. "
