one thing today

watching andersen and andy on times square. the white guy on roy woods cnn series - when asked by Andy what was he gonna do later that night - answered - I'm gonna go back to my hotel room and rub one out  .   it sparked my recall of one new years in the 80s when I did the same at the stroke of midnight for some odd reason.

I am watching All Creatures Great and Small. Two dogs are sleeping in front of a roaring fire.  I recall a time a long time ago in the Sixties when I did the same in my familys living room. I had a Buddhist gap moment back then - before I knew what a Buddhist gap moment was - one hundred per cent present and satisfied with life.   

  I go through phases on Youtube ... women cracking eggs on mens foreheads - surprisingly satisfying ... a dutiful caring dad caring for his scrumptious Japanese girl triplets, Francis Bacon, barkleythabulldog and currently ... First Date Restaurant ... in London ... chronicling the perils and pleasures of blind dating ... the best thing some guy did was gift his date with a coupon for an ice cream sundae ... the show is everything - sweet, sad, suddenly thrilling, sexy, nerdy, scary, reminiscent ... winners, losers, not sure-ers ... but always fascinating - all the vulnerability, nerves, smiles, tight moves ... and most of all ... it's plain to see and feel ... it's all in the eyes - the thing that changes least about us as we slouch on until lights out. 

  Saw Stereophonic last night ... Tony Best Play ... first half dreadfully wrong ... no arc, wrong costume choices, people didn't high 5 in '76, sans character development ... the Stevie Nicks character looked like Ingrid Bergman as Joan of Art with well combed tresses ... one good actor you wanted more from ... the whole thing a grand example of something so wrong and a few moments right.  give me a week and I could make it sing, says modest Leo me. 

  so i'm watching a movie last night - hemingway and gellhorn . .. and once again, nicole kidman is wearing a completely distracting wig that you could cop on 14th street for not much more than the price of a slice of pizza - and I google nicole k bad wigs and there are hundreds of entries ... so i guess I'm not alone in thinking what I think ... y oh y ... apparently she ends interviews and reprimands interviewers when they travel thru said subject terrain ...  slow news day here - as u can read.
