Sounder

Just finished watching Sounder for maybe the tenth time or more. I readied myself for the famous scene when Dad stumbles home after he went missing and was imprisoned for most of the film. First the dog notices him far off, then his wife, then the kids. She runs across the field and onto the dirt road: racing, aching, trembling, coiled, making heart wrenching small noises, insanely tense. I think it's the most outstanding movie embrace of all time. It runs thru my body every time and yes, again, tears.
