Chaka

You can tell a lot about people by what's on their coffee table.

A beautiful blue sky morning yesterday. The girls made chocolate chip pancakes and played me some The Brook and the Bluff. I took a few tokes as military helicopters flew over us low and loud. Marvin Gaye is the bomb singing about getting together after the dance.

We caught the sunset on the dock. It didn’t so much set as go plip! And vanish before it hit the horizon - like tvs turning off back in the days of old.

It was so great to see Cherry’s packed with people, maybe two hundred  ... and a drag queen with a copper colored Chaka Kahn wig crown and Mr. Bear 2023 on stage being pestered by a frisky pup who took to his knobby kneesIt felt like some hard time was over - covid, orange sky or man, but there's always something straight  ahead.

We walked down to the Belvedere, overshot the house, ate warm brownies and cocoanut ice cream when we got home. I read for a while and fell out wildly early.

And the horses don’t who u r - Prince.

Nina Simone does a smooth cover.

We sat on the stairway with coffee again and wolfed down french toast and listened to Chaka Kahn. My guests left after  a good 2 and a half days. They left me with sweet messages that were each their own You. Sun music food naps reading laughing trivial pursuit. The Tonys are on tonight.

I kind of like that I don’t know who’s reading my blog. I know my biggest mostly daily fans are sister Suzanne and sister Lynda.  But there are others reading it, some days a staggering number and I don’t know what the hell is happening and its just another one of life’s mysteries that's best to accept.
