what a difference a year makes
Watching Marilyn Monroe and Richard Widmark in Don’t Bother to Knock 1952. More like Don’t Bother to Act. She is unbelievably, fascinatingly awful. It’s amazing who she went on to become. Why didn’t someone tell her to nix the stupid little girl voice? She looked perpetually hypnotized. A year later, in Niagara, she turned down the silly talk meter, cleaned up her act considerably, and took over the 50s and from then on.
