Hot dog!

Monday 8/1

11pm and nothing much to put down on this dog day of summer. In ancient Greece and Rome, the Dog Days were believed to be a time of drought, bad luck, and unrest. Today, they  refer to the time of summer’s peak temperatures and humidity that coincides with the year’s heliacal (at sunrise) rising of  Sirius, the Dog Star.  It's s part of the constellation Canis Majoris and, not including our own Sun, Sirius is the brightest star in the sky.
