Boys of Summer
I'm feeling all right
I'm with my boys, I'm with my troops
- late in the evening, Paul Simon
Last night at Cherry’s dancin’ our limbs off with the boys. Old skinny man with white suit on with orchids on it I think - maybe lilac sprays ... so vivid a visual, so fab. I commented to Deb or Loraine how different these boys present than my boys of summer a half (gulp) century ago. We were lithe and lean, undernourished, economy sized. And then came the era of the gym boys looking all tight and streamlined buff tough fit. Now they're much more relaxed as far as their form goes. Little paunches and scruffy, scraggily faces and can't-really-call-them outfits outfits. Nice to see.
Loraine says she loves to watch people dance and I’m there with her.
We’re in the fray horray.
Again, my best life moments were dancin’ with my troops back lo those many years ago way … weekday nights, any night, goin’ down the street to the Monster or the Limelight and tearing up the floor, swingin’ each other round, full of music and young.
Its 7:56 am on a Sunday that’s gonna rock.
Family left. The best part of the day was watching Rodney Dangerfield on Carson. another time. another world he and we be back then. He'd be cancelled yesterday today.
